November 2021 Newsletter

Worthy Sirs, Hope this Newsletter finds you well. Our fourth Assembly meeting of the fraternal year 2021-2022 was held on 11/15/2021 at my home/shop in Raymond.

On Saturday November 6th, in observance of Veterans Day, the Assembly placed
approximately 230 American flags on veteran graves at Clinton and Cedar Grove
Cemeteries. With permission these flags will remain until December 18th.

Mississippi’s first in person Patriotic Degree Exemplification of the Fraternal year
was held at Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Olive Branch on Sunday November
14th. Host Assembly 3081 did an excellent job with the with the Exemplification
where ten Brother Knights completed their journey to Complete Knighthood.
The Assembly Color Corps will provide members for KC David McNamara Visitation
and Funeral on Monday November 29th from 10-12 at St. Richard Church. Brother
David, 87 years old, was a member of Council 15131.

The Clinton MS Chamber has once again requested the Knights of Columbus to lead
the Clinton Christmas Parade by providing a Color Guard to Present Colors. The
parade is this coming Saturday December 4th at 10am. I have sent an email to all
Assembly Color Corps members, but if you would like to join us put on your tux,
your Assembly or Council polo and fall in. Parade begins at 10am sharp on the
corner of Clinton Blvd. and Morrison Dr.

The Assembly partnered with Clinton Chapter of The Daughters of the American
Revolution to sell wreaths for our newest Patriotic Program “Wreaths Across
America”. Combined we sold 163 wreaths, which with our 3 for 2 option netted a
total of 244 wreaths. This should be enough to not only cover the 168 identified
veteran graves at our adopted Clinton Cemetery with Christmas wreaths but also
the veterans at Cedar Grove Cemetery.

Our Wreaths Across America Ceremony is on December 18th at twelve noon at the
Clinton Cemetery * 500 East College St. We have over 240 wreaths to lay on veteran
graves. The laying of wreaths should go relatively smooth because the American
flags will still be in place. The Ceremony with presentation will be formal with Color
and Honor Guard. Please plan to attend ceremony and assist with placement of
wreaths. I would request everyone to arrive no later than 11:30am for instructions.
Our next Patriotic Degree will be hosted by Edward E. Tracy Assembly 3863 at St.
Richard on January 15th. Please pass this information on to all 3rd Degree Knights.

That’s all for now, be safe.
Brother in Faith
Vivat Jesus!
