July 2022 Newsletter

We have started our new Fraternal Year on July 1st and had our first meeting of the year at Clinton in the new Parish Hall. It is a beautiful building and will serve the Parish well for many years to come.

First, I want to thank Steve Miller for his excellent leadership during his tenure as Faithful Navigator. Assembly 544 achieved Silver Star status and was awarded the Patriot Award given to the one Assembly among the five state Provincial area that had the best project. Ours was placing wreaths on Veterans grave sites in two cemeteries in Clinton as part of the Wreaths Across America program. Congratulations Steve and thank you!

I am pleased to announce that Fr. Nick Adam has agreed to serve as Chaplain for our Assembly. We thank him and look forward to his Spiritual guidance.

Next meeting is Monday August 15,2022 at 6:30 P.M. at the Cathedral. This is a Holy Day. The feast of the Assumption of our Blessed Mother. Fr. Nick Adam has scheduled Mass at 5:15 P.M. at the Cathedral. I encourage all of you to attend Mass and make the meeting in the Church basement. It will be great to see a larger group than we have
been having since the pandemic.

I made contact with the VA hospital and the VA retirement home to see if they were ready to resume Bingo at their facility. The hospital is not yet organized to start but the retirement home is. We are scheduled to resume Bingo there on the third Wednesday of August. That will be August 17 th at 7:00 P.M.

Officer installation will most likely be in August and after a Vigil Mass at the Cathedral. As soon as arrangements can be made for Mass and a place to eat afterwards you will be notified.

Respectfully,
Bill O’Connor
Faithful Navigator
